What in the dickens...? A band with chickens!

The Backyarders are an Adelaide based fun-time band.

The musical equivalent of a sausage on bread at your local hardware store, The Backyarders are the epitome of Australian Backyard culture. Delivering a high-energy performance laced with accordion, violin and gang vocals; contemporary folk, punk and rock meet whisky-soaked shanties and traditional songs from around the world.

Formed in late 2019, this super group of Adelaide musicians: Doug Clark -  Guitar & Vocals (Emergency Rule, Mammoth, Universum), Pearl Tassell - Accordion & Vocals (Soursob Bob, Porchlight Parade, Submerge, and circus and cabaret multi-instrumentalist), Dylby McCullough - Bass & Vocals (Thom Lion, Pimpin' Horus), Sarah O'Brien - Violin (Simon Peter, The Timbers), and Lachlan Stopa - Drums (Brutaliate, Blood Mason) burst onto the scene with a sold out show at the Adelaide Fringe in 2020.

Previously performing as pirate band Captain Hellfire and the Wretched Brethren, the group produced and release an eponymous album, provided a live soundtrack for Xbox Game Sea of Thieves, and supported international acts from Alestorm to Korpiklanni, to Australia's John Butler.

As Aussie as vegemite, be prepared for hill hoists, fairy bread, and a bloody good time!
